Employer asking me to quit...?

It is always better to be laid of in terms of collecting unemployment... If I were you, I would contact a labor law attorney in your area who can help you out. The whole "I worked the meal period", they probably have covered in an employee handbook, where they say they cannot make you work, however if you do, its up to you, so I dont know what to tell you about that. Talk to a lawyer.
