What do you think of dream endings?

I don't even like dreams in books, in general but dream endings make me want to tear the book into sixteen million pieces and then destroy every copy. It just makes me feel that the writer couldn't think of a better ending. I mean, come on, I wrote dream endings to humor essays when I was 9 or 10, surely you can think of something better!
