Will my roomate be held responsible for her dog urinating on my apartments carpet?

My name is on my apartment lease. I had a girl move in with me. She told me that her dog was completely potty trained but she has urinated all over my apartment which is all carpet. It's about 1000 square feet. I'm going to have her steam clean in, but afraid that might not be enough. I know some apartments actually lift up to see the pad or use blacklight. I had her sign a statement saying she would pay for any damages caused by her dog and specifically noted that damages to the carpet may have already happened as a result of her dog. However, it wasn't notarized. Does anyone know how well this would hold up in court if the apartment charges me to replace the carpet? Also can you have your bank notarize something like that?
