Is this normal or is my dad being unreasonable?

Sounds normal to me, as I lived in a dorm. My dad would have given me the same treatment had I been living off campus. When your on campus, parents tend to feel safer. Not just about you getting your schoolwork done, but your own safety. Remember, it's your first time away from the nest. Cheers.
