I have dark cherry (burgundy) cabinets in my kitchen, and black appliances. Matching laminate? Paint?

The kitchen is 25x12. I was considering a soft yellow paint, and black countertops, with perhaps a pecan colour lamiante? Are these good choices? Any suggestions welcome. Please help???????
