I'm seriously considering wings on my back...?

It's always a hard call on time & expense. Most artists seem to go by dollars per hour, with $100/hour not being atypical. I'd guess this work would take on the order of 10 hours; I could be off by a factor of two in either direction based on the artist's skill and variances in art. $1000 for the work could easily be too conservative, but not likely to be an overestimate.
